Elly Azizian — Live Event Illustrator, New York

Elly Azizian is a New York-based live illustrator with a unique ability to capture the dynamism and dramatic impact of the events she draws at, and the individual character of her subjects. Guests always walk away with a one-off memento to cherish.

Once a professional dancer, Elly brings creative understanding of the body and movement to her art, and she studied Haute Couture at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Elly draws in a range of settings, from large, formal high fashion events through to boutique product launches and weddings. Work can be further customised with initialled, dated or branded paper; use of brand colours in the images; and matte and ribbon packaging for the drawings – an elegant finishing touch to seal the experience. Her images not only engage visitors with her clients’ brands but often take on a life of their own on social media.

Approach

With her loose and abstract approach, Elly aims to capture the mood of the event and personality of her subject in a fun, dynamic way. She works with layers, adding depth using mixed media – inks, pencils, pastels plus special touches like foiling, nail polish and even Swarovski rhinestones.
