Bristol Bestiary

Driven by a long-standing interest in folklore, Tom has created Bristol Bestiary, a self-published book that reimagines the city through a collection of strange and unusual creatures inspired by local myths. Having lived in Bristol for over a decade, Tom set out to bring the folklore of the wider Somerset landscape into the city he calls home.

Written, illustrated and designed by Tom, the book combines playful characters, humour and detailed world-building to create a fictional menagerie rooted in the character of Bristol. Through each creature and story, Tom celebrates the city’s quirks while exploring the imaginative possibilities hidden within its folklore.
