Little Wonder

For the cover of Little Wonder, Mayuko focused on the story’s emotional core; a mother and son searching for each other across Beijing.

She explored the contrast between the city’s modern skyline and its older neighbourhoods, using hand‑cut stencils and painted textures before adding digital colour. The motif of the two charactersis is a focus in the composition, with a palette that hints at the hope threaded through the novel.
