Chorus Mural

A 26-metre visual story of Christchurch and New Zealand, is created by Greg Straight for Chorus.

For Chorus’ new Christchurch office, Greg was commissioned to create a large-scale mural reflecting the brand’s values while incorporating recognisable local landmarks and New Zealand iconography.

Measuring 1.5m by 26m, the 39sqm artwork wraps around two meeting rooms, extending across walls, doors, lockers, quiet rooms and utility spaces.

Greg began with landmark research and rough layouts before developing the artwork as high-resolution vector illustrations in Illustrator. Bold black outlines and pops of Chorus’ core colours allow the surface beneath to show through, while a continuous-line approach connects the different architectural elements.

With so many surfaces and joins to consider, careful planning was essential to make the artwork flow from one area to the next.
