From oils and watercolours through to digital painting and 3D art, fantasy illustrators use a wide range of media, taking us deep into magical dungeons filled with orcs and dragons, or beyond the stratosphere riding intergalactic shuttles, meeting alien lifeforms across the cosmos. It’s a form of illustration that tells the most imaginative stories, inspired by everything from ancient fairy tales and mythology through to the latest books, films and TV scripts.
