Basée aux Pays-Bas, Marieke a vécu au Mexique et au Costa Rica lorsqu'elle était jeune, et ses influences proviennent de cultures du monde entier. Dix ans de travail dans le graphisme signifient qu'elle sait tenir un brief, et ses clients apprécient toujours la façon dont elle plonge profondément dans chaque nouveau projet. Elle s'inspire de la nature et de créateurs tels qu'Edward Gorey, Lisbeth Zwerger, Shaun Tan, Tim Burton et Wes Anderson. Marieke est diplômée en communication visuelle, spécialisée en illustration, de l'école d'art de Bois-le-Duc.

Approcher

Les médias naturels sont la clé du style individuel de Marieke. En construisant des formes avec couche après couche de gouache, elle donne à ses images une impression de volume et de physique. Parfois, elle mélange des crayons de couleur et de l'encre pour un style plus lâche, ou travaille spontanément avec un stylo à trempage en verre pour un dessin au trait noir et blanc.
